Please check the FAQs below and the Event Info and Schedules pages on the specific event webpages in the firstinstance. If you still have a question please contact us using the form below :-)
Q: I have not received a confirmation email, but I have a PayPal receipt, am I registered?
A: Yes, you are! Most probably, your confirmation email has been filed in a spam or promotions folder. Please dig it out, save our email address, and all future emails will go to your main inbox.
Q: I tried to register but I have no payment receipt or confirmation email, am I in the race?
A: Probably not. If you have neither of these things, then your registration must have been interrupted and not processed, please try again.
Q: Can I change my race wave?
A: No, sorry. Runners always select their own race waves (not us) so you need to confer with friends and family at the booking to select the same wave.
Q: Can I switch place with a friend?
A: Yes, within certain time frames. Please see transfer options below. Unofficial transfers will result in no number being issued on race day/ disqualification.
Q: Can I have a refund please?
A: Races are non refundable as acknowledged in the Ts and Cs at the time of registration.
Q: Can I pay over the phone?
A: I'm afraid we don't have the ability to take payment over the phone. Please register online or via cheque and postal registration form.
Q: Why have I not received a race pack or number yet?
A: All our info is published online on the pages named Event Info and Schedules which can be found beneath the main menu for each event. All race numbers are collected on race day. We do not send anything out in the post, unless specifically mentioned otherwise.
Q: What is the difference between Event Wave and Race Wave?
A: When you signed up you selected your Race Wave. All the Race Waves, across all the distances, are put into a final starting order when we make the final Event Schedule, which we call Event Wave. Your bib number is collected from the Event Wave desk.
Q: Can I run with my dog?
A: Yes, but only at our specific canicross events which are currently the day time Skyline race and Killerton race. Please check these individual event pages for details. You will need your own insurance which specifically states you are able to race with your dog.
Q: Can I run with a pram?
A: Yes, at certain events. The Two Tunnels 5km, Return Ticket 10km, Return Ticket Half Marathon, Lacock 5km, Lacock 10km and Lacock Half Marathon (includes farm track) are the events for you. They are generally flat, mostly tarmac and have no gates or stiles. All prams will be asked to start at the back. There is a bit of uneven ground and a slope at the start of the Two Tunnels. There is a ford, with a raised (fairly narrow) path alternative at Lacock. Please contact us for more info and we can send you some pictures.
Q: Are there any cut offs?
A: Yes, for the marathon distance events there is a cut off of 3hrs to start the second lap at the Bath Running Festival (~14.5miles), Cheddar Gorge (~13.1 miles) and Two Tunnels Marathon (~13.3miles). The total time allowed for the 50km Ultra is 8.5hrs. We work off a 3hr-3hr15mins finish time for our half marathon events though there is no formal cut off. There are no cut offs for the shorter distance events, though we can not accept bookings from people who plan to walk the whole event as we do not plan the event around people walking (first aid cover, marshal time etc). A mix of running, jogging and walking is absolutely fine and will get you round in the time we have allowed.
Q: Can I listen to music?
A: Only through bone conducting headphones as per UK Athletics rules. It is important you can still hear marshals, staff, first aiders and fellow runners who may advise of your hazards out on the course and to help you navigate your way around the course.
Q: Do you have water stations and snacks?
A: We don't have water stations on 5km and shorter distance events. On 6km - 10km events we have at least one water station, if you route overlaps with Half Marathon and Marathon events then there will be likely be a snacks on offer too. Half Marathon events will have at last 3 FEAST (food and drink) stations. Marathon events will have at least 9 FEAST stations. Drinks stations (6km - 10km) have only water in non-plastic cups plus jugs and jerry cans to refill your own supply. Feast Stations (Half Marathon +) have water, electrolyte, bananas, oranges, cookies, flapjack, crisps, haribo, vegan bars (Tribe bars - please ask for them as we may keep them hidden from the omnivores) and GF bars (Tribe and Kind bars - please ask for them as we may keep them hidden from the omnivores). Flat coke is provided on Lap 2 of the marathon distance events and after 30km on the Ultra Marathon. The finish line also has a full compliment of snacks. Tribe and Kind bars contain nuts. Please check allergen information on the packaging to your own satisfaction before consuming snacks. You are very welcome to carry your own food and drinks.
Q: Is there any compulsory kit?
A: No. However we reserve the right to ask all runners to carry water with them on half marathon/marathon events in the event the temperature is very high.
Q: Are there toilets?
A: Yes, please use them! We are fortunate enough to hold events in very special places. Please do not sprinkle the hedgerows, you may be asked to leave the event village. There are on course toilets on the ultra marathon, marathon and most of the half marathon routes.
Q: Is there a bag drop?
A: Yes. Please use the baggage label on the bottom of your race number, or a luggage tag to label your bag. Whilst the bag drops are manned, we do not accept any liability for any loss from the baggage area.
Q: Are there changing facilities?
A: Generally not, the exceptions are the Mud Bath events which have small changing tents. Best to come changed ready to race and bring extra clothes that you can put on top of your running kit. Check the Event Info page for event for details.
Q: Do I get a medal?
A: Yes! From 500m to 5km everyone gets a medal. All adult races, 5km and greater, will take home a medal unique to that event, that year as well as a ribbon denoting the distance at most events. Children's fun run events may get a mix of different medal designs, but always with a ribbon denoting the correct year.
Q: Are the races timed?
A: Yes. Results are usually posted online by 6pm on the event day. Navigate to the event page and find the Results sub menu to find the results. Exceptions include Cheddar Gorge and Eastnor where we have no internet signal so results are usually posted by midday on Monday.
Q: I can't find my result?
A: If you have any queries please first of all check your race number, sometimes people pick up the wrong race number so there will be a time for that number, though it won't be linked with your name . Let us know and we can match your name and race number. If you drop down a distance mid race we are not able to provide a finish time.
Q: I ordered a custom medal engraving, when will it arrive?
A: 2-3 weeks after the event. Once we have all the finish times from the event we send them to the engraving company who posts them directly to you.
Races are non refundable as acknowledged in the Ts and Cs at the time of registration.
The following transfers are available in the time periods noted below. We can accommodate changes of distance, going longer or shorter on race day too, but need to draw a line at 14 days in advance of race day for online changes. Changes of event and changes of name are £5. There is no charge for switching to a longer distance. There is no charge, but also no partial refund for switching to a shorter distance.
Name substitutions can not be used on races which are part of the Mini Challenge/Challenge series. We will be able to award a finisher's medal to the new runner, but we can not award the glass trophy as not all 3 races have been completed by the same runner.
Changes of Event and Changes of Name time frames can not be extended below the times quoted below.
Hello! My name is Tom and I am the organiser of Relish Running Races.
I was a GB Professional triathlete for 8 years competing in sprint, olympic, duathlon and half ironman triathlon (1.9km swim, 90km bike, 21.1km run). I finished in the top 50 professionals at the 2008 and 2009 World Championships at 70.3 Half Ironman. I have been fortunate to race all around the world and have experienced some truly fabulous events, and that is what I am looking to create with Relish Running.
The best events were more than just races, they were a great day out for the whole family and that is what I want to offer with Relish Running Races too. Memorable experiences in unique and beautiful locations.
